In previous posts on our blog we have told you about all the benefits you can get from drinking seawater. For example, in the article ‘Is seawater good for children’ we explained that it helps them to have more defences, to improve bone health, to strengthen the body and to improve circulation. But the truth is that it not only helps children, but also adults.
As far as adults are concerned, the benefits of seawater are very varied: more performance in sport, for therapeutic purposes, to treat illnesses, to achieve a greater supply of minerals… And there is another great use that is unknown to most people: to achieve a great menopausal improvement. And this is precisely what we are going to talk about in this new publication.
What is menopause?
Before explaining how seawater improves menopause, we are going to tell you exactly what menopause is. We could define it as the moment in a woman’s life when menstruation ceases, something that generally occurs between the ages of 45 and 55. This is a normal bodily change that prevents women from becoming pregnant as soon as it occurs. And there is a lot of advice for this stage, although it is not usually mentioned what seawater has to offer.
Special needs and seawater
There is no doubt about it: the menopause is one of the most important stages of change in any woman’s life. Both physically and emotionally. During this stage, a woman’s body produces less and less oestrogen and progesterone, which causes changes that give rise to the typical symptoms of the menopause.
These symptoms are usually the following:
- Hot flushes.
- Night sweats.
- Sleep problems.
- mood swings
- Weight gain and slower metabolism.
- thinning hair
- Dry skin.
And to deal with all these symptoms, as well as to improve the menopause in general, seawater appears. This is due to the large amount of minerals it contains, magnesium being one of the most important and which, in turn, is a necessity to cover during this stage of a woman’s life. It also provides better cellular nutrition and improves vasomotor systems, which helps to improve the symptoms mentioned above.
Improve menopause with seawater
Several studies have shown how the components of seawater can help to improve menopause. For example, a study carried out by Dr Isabel Fernández Domínguez under the Cervantes Scale showed how this water can help to improve quality of life, menopausal symptoms and other aspects related to women’s well-being in general. In fact, all the parameters measured in the study improved, especially those related to depression, fluid retention and pain.
